Installation Method of Encoder Coupling

The installation method of encoder coupling mainly includes the following steps:

(1) Secure the drive shaft on the machine: Firstly, ensure that the drive shaft is fixed and not directly connected to the encoder shaft. Typically, a flexible coupling is used. ‌

(2) Install the coupling onto the encoder: When installing the coupling onto the encoder, be careful not to let the coupling touch the surface of the encoder.

(3) Use servo clamp ring: Push the servo clamp ring with screws onto the surface of the mounting flange, but do not immediately lock the screws. Rotate the servo clamp ring to push the encoder into place.

(4) Fixed coupling: Rotate the servo clamp ring into the servo sleeve, then gently tighten it to ensure that the coupling is affixed to the drive shaft and minimize angle and horizontal alignment errors to ensure that the installation errors of the coupling and encoder are within the allowable range.

(5) Locking screws: Finally, tighten the three screws on the servo clamp ring, and the coupling is installed.
